Enamel paint RAL 7016 Blaugrau (Blue Grey) Blue-gray Arcus 203 RAL 7016 blue-gray color: -RAL 7016 Blue Gray was introduced in 1939 by adding the color Farbtonkarte 840 R Blaugrau RAL 7016 to the RAL color standard. -Some sources claim that Luftwaffe units' vehicles were painted RAL 7016 Luftwaffenblaugrau until September 1938, while Luftschutz units used this color until May 1939. However, according to Luftwaffenbestimmung 416 of 1938, all Luftwaffe vehicles had to be painted RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau Nr. 21. -RAL 7016 Blaugrau Nr. 4 was also used to camouflage such ammunition as helmets, buckles, gas canisters, etc. -After World War II, the color RAL 7016 Anthrazitgrau continued to be used as a camouflage for Bundeswehr air force helmets. -The RAL 7016 Blue Gray color most closely matches the wartime Dunkelgrau 53 used in WWII German submarine camouflage. Dunkelgrau 53 was also used to paint the horizontal metal surfaces of Kriegsmarine warships in accordance with Lfd. Nr. July 31 and 31a, 1944 -The color RAL 7016 Blue Gray is believed to most closely match the military Schiffsbodenfarbe III Grau, also known as Wasserlinienfarbe WL III Grau and Anthrazitgrau, whose DKM numbers were 23a and 23b respectively. Schiffsbodenfarbe III Grau was used as an anti-fouling coating for the hulls of German Kriegsmarine warships
