Assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine The Airborne Assault Forces of Ukraine were created in 2017 on the basis of the already existing High Mobility Airborne Forces*, which at that time already had their own separate command. According to their purpose, the units and units of the Airborne Assault Forces are divided into Airborne Assault Forces and Airborne Forces. Tank units are also included in their composition to increase the shock potential. In 2022, a separate hunting brigade was also added. Airborne assault troops are distinguished by a high level of combat readiness, mobility, the ability to independently perform tasks in difficult conditions, high motivation and fighting spirit. A feature of their everyday and formal uniform is a maroon beret. Since 2014, this type of troops has taken an active part in hostilities, first in the southwest, and with the beginning of full-scale hostilities in other regions of Ukraine.
