Brush Repair Gel is a product used to repair and restore the shape of paint brushes as well as makeup brushes. Brush Repair Gel is water-soluble and non-staining because it contains a blend of conditioning agents and solvents that work together to reshape and repair brush bristles. It is usually applied by gently massaging the bristles with the gel, then washed off and given the brush its original shape. Brush Repair Gel is used at the end of brush making to give it the final touch and is a useful tool to maintain the quality of brushes and extend their life. This product is compatible with soap and brush preservative and should be used after all paint residue has been removed from the brush bristles. Here are the general steps to use: Wet the bristles of the brush you want to repair with water.
Squeeze a small amount of repair gel onto one of your fingers or a clean surface.
Gently rub the bristles into the gel, working the product through the bristles to the tip.
Use your fingers or a cloth to gently restore the bristles to their original shape.
Leave the brush to air dry completely before using it again for about 10 minutes. Do not leave the tip of the brush to dry on something such as placed upside down in a glass, as this can cause the bristles to lose their shape.
Before re-painting, wipe the tip a little with water to soften it.
Repeat the process after each painting session and your brushes will always be as good as new.
