Aerospatiale Alouette III - light multipurpose helicopter of French production. The flight of the prototype took place in 1959, and serial production of the machine began in 1960. In total, more than 2,000 helicopters of this type of all modifications were built. The drive in the basic version was provided by one Turbomeca Artouste IIIB engine with a capacity of 570 hp. The length of the helicopter was 10.03 meters, the diameter of the propeller - 11.02 meters. The maximum take-off weight is 2200 kilograms.
Aerospatiale Alouette III was created as a further development of the highly successful Alouette II machine. However, compared to its predecessor, it was clearly larger, since more powerful engines were used in the drive. It could also carry more people or cargo and had slightly better aerodynamics. During the production process, several modifications of the helicopter were created, among them: SA-316A Alouette III (basic version), SA-316B (version with improved transmission and increased take-off weight) or SA-319B (version with Turbomec Astazou XIV engines). The Aerospatiale Alouette III helicopter was quite commercially successful and was or is still being operated in countries such as Argentina, Austria, France, Ethiopia and Cameroon.
