La Grande Hermine is a French three-masted carrack of the beginning of the 16th century. She was the ship on which the famous explorer and explorer Jacques Cartier sailed on June 15, 1535 to the Saint Pierre Islands near Newfoundland. La Grande Hermine was also used by Cartier to explore the mouth of the St. Lawrence and discover its existence by Europeans! It is believed that the image of this ship is depicted on the modern flag of the dependent territory of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. The original unit has not survived to this day, but in 1967 a copy of it was made for the World's Fair in Montreal. During this exhibition, as for the next 30 years, it served as a floating restaurant. Unfortunately, it is now neglected.
