Tupolev-144D The Tu-144 became the world's first supersonic passenger plane. It was designed by A.N. Tupolev Design Bureau. The first flight of the prototype took place on December 31, 1968 (two months earlier than the British-French Concorde). Serial production began in 1971. In 1974, a Tu-144D modification was developed with RD-36-51A engines and a flight range increased to 5,300 km. A total of 5 Tu-144D aircraft were built by 1984. Aircraft USSR-77112 made about 50 cargo flights on the route Moscow - Khabarovsk. It is now on display at the Sinsheim Museum of Technology.
