Assembled model 1/200 airplane Boeing B787-9 Japan Airlines Hasegawa 10722 The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a twin-engine low-wing mid-range aircraft produced in the United States. Propulsion is provided by two General Electric GEnx or Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines. The prototype flight took place in 2009, and serial production began in 2010 and continues to this day. By April 2017, 532 examples of this aircraft were produced. The cost of a Boeing 787 unit varies from $224 million to $306 million depending on the version. When designing the Boeing 787, great attention was paid to low fuel consumption, which led to the use of new engines with high fuel economy. It is also the first passenger aircraft in which the entire fuselage and wings are made of composite materials. In the entire structure, they make up as much as 50% of the materials! Like the 777 models, it also used very advanced avionics using an electrically remote system. The Boeing 787 also managed to set a record for the duration of the flight and the speed in its class of machines. The machine is built in three main modifications: 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10, which differ in the length of the fuselage and the capacity of the cabin.
