AH-1G "Arctic Cobra" US helicopter During hostilities in Southeast Asia, Cobras showed excellent survivability. They have proven themselves as reliable and powerful ground support aircraft after the end of hostilities, helicopters continued to be in service US Army. Some helicopters have been tested and operated in low temperature conditions in Alaska, particularly at Elmendorf and Fort Richardson bases. Painted in white and red, these helicopters were also called "Arctic Cobras".
