I-153 with Soviet pilots (1939-1942) The set includes 176 parts for assembling the model kit of the I-153 fighter and 29 parts for assembling 3 figures of Soviet pilots (1939-1942). The I-153 was the last and most advanced biplane fighter family in the N. N. Polikarpov Design Bureau. It had a two-wing gull-shaped wing, retractable landing gear and more powerful armament with four ShKAS machine guns. Serial aircraft had M-62 radial engines, later series - more powerful M-63. The first flight took place in August 1938. A total of 3,437 aircraft were manufactured in 1939-1941. In the summer of 1941, the I-153 "Seagull" formed the basis of the Soviet fighter aircraft with the I-16 fighters. I-153 were used in combat until the middle of 1943.
