Assembled model 1/35 British tank British Heavy Tank Conqueror Black Label Dragon D3555 1/35 British Heavy Tank Conqueror D3555 Dragon Already the Black Label series offered a number of modern (ie post WWII) items such as the MVT-70 from Germany and the M6A1 from the USA. Clearly the time has come to have an equivalent British tank, and that time has come. New to the block is the FV214 Conqueror, a heavy tank design with a 120mm main gun. Designed specifically as a response to the Soviet IS-3 tank, it was intended as a partner for the British Army's main tank and the modern Centurion tank (armed with a smaller 20-pdr gun) so that it could provide long-range anti-tank fire. In total, 20 Conqueror Mk.I and 165 Conqueror Mk.II tanks were produced in 1955-59, which were transferred to tank shelves located in Germany. Its weight of 66 tons was a disadvantage because it affected its speed, and it was too heavy for many bridges. Of particular interest was his technologically advanced rotating commander's turret. Due to the nature of this tank, this 135 scale Conqueror from Black Label features all-new parts, none of which are carried over from previous kit items. The complex rounded contours of the one-piece turret (which has hatches that can be opened or closed) have been carefully recreated, and the incredibly long barrel of the gun is made using a slide mold. Also accurately depicted is the Norstmann-type suspension, which includes four assemblies on each side (each with two support wheels) and four tracks. At the same time, the tracks are made from DS for the best combination of details and comfort. The case is a one-piece piece and the shutter details are clearly reproduced throughout. The Conquerog was in service from 1955 to 1966, a period that coincides well with the service life of the Saladin Mk.II 6×6 armored car, an item also available in the Black Label collection. Ambitious modelers could thus create a British-themed diorama where both Cold War combat vehicles were side by side!
