In 1959, the production of the BTR-152K armored personnel carrier, which was a modernized model of the BTR-152B, began. Its body is borrowed from the basic model, but increased in height due to the introduction of an armored roof. A longitudinal hatch, closed by three armored covers, is cut into the roof along its length. Unlike the base car, there are no two-seater seats above the fuel tanks. A six-cylinder carburetor engine with a capacity of 110 hp is installed in the front part of the armored hull. Wheels with pneumatic tires 12.00-18".
