The M4 Command and Control Vehicle (C2V) is similar in design to the BAE Systems Ground Systems XM5 Electronic Fighting Vehicle Systems Carrier, but differences in mission equipment dictate areas of change. The M4 C2V uses a 10-meter telescoping mast and has a main power supply unit, environmental control unit, and NBC overpressure system integrated into the mission equipment housings. It is based on the standard carrier chassis of the multiple launch missile system (MSM), which is used in large numbers by the US Army. The first contract called for the production of five M4s, but the contract included a three-year option worth US$82 million for a total of 46 machines, with deliveries by February 2002. A total of 25 M4 control machines were produced before the program was terminated. Item No. 01063
