Trumpeter 09607 1/35 Scale Project 490A Model Kit
Project 490A was developed as an alternative to Project 490. The 490A Rebel was intended to have an additional crew member and an external cannon. The biggest change from Object 490 to Object 490A was the completely redesigned turret; the chassis remained unchanged. In late 1984, the project was canceled, and development began on the updated Object 477 “Molot.” This was a tank that was far ahead of its time; to remain competitive, it incorporated a large number of new technologies.
