T -50 is a Soviet light tank of the period of the Great Patriotic War. Developed in 1941 at Plant No. 174 in Leningrad under the leadership of L. S. Troyanov on the basis of the T-126 (SP) light tank (which in turn was developed at Plant No. 185 under the leadership of S. A. Ginzburg). Designer I. S. Bushnev also took an active part in its creation.

In In 1941, the T-50 was adopted by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and factory No. 174 began its serial production. However, after the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, due to the threat of the capture of Leningrad by the enemy, plant No. 174 was first evacuated to Chkalov (Orenburg), then once again to Omsk. Due to a lack of engines and organizational problems with the deployment of production in new locations, the production of the T-50 was completed in March 1942.

Total according to various sources, 65-75 T-50 light tanks were produced, which took part in the battles of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1943. One tank of this brand was captured by the Finnish army and was used until 1954.
