Assembled model 1:35 tank German A7V Tank & Engine (Krupp) Limited Edition Meng Model TS-017

The A7V was a German tank of World War I and the first German-made tank to be used in combat. The first prototypes of the machine were created in 1917, and in March 1918 it entered the A7V line. Of the 100 ordered, only 20 were produced by the end of the war. The A7V was equipped with two 100 hp carburetor engines. Its main armament was a 57-mm Nordfeld gun, and its auxiliary - 5 machine guns of 7.92 mm caliber. The first use of tanks by the British in the Battle of the Somme in 1916 was a big surprise for the German Imperial Army. The Germans, having noticed their backwardness in this field of military equipment, in November 1916 created a special technical commission that was supposed to develop guidelines for the construction of a new machine. The first results of her work were visible in the spring of 1917, when wooden models of the German tank were created, and in October of the same year, the first mechanically functional prototypes appeared. However, due to the overload of the German arms industry, large-scale production of the A7V tank was impossible. Despite the large number of disadvantages (for example, the terrible working conditions of the crew, rocking of the car when driving off-road, numerous and difficult to control the crew)[aż 18 osób! ] or relatively thin armor) A7V did not differ significantly in technology from the British samples. The A7V tank was first used in combat on March 21, 1918 in the Battle of Saint Quentin, and a month later (April 24, 1918) also participated in the first tank battle in history.
