The Magach 2 is an Israeli Cold War main battle tank. The length of the wagon was about 9.3 meters, the width - about 3.65 meters, and the combat weight - about 45 tons. The drive was provided by one Continental engine with a capacity of 750 hp. Armament initially consisted of one 90-mm cannon and two machine guns of 7.62 and 12.7 mm caliber. Magach 2 is essentially the Israeli name for the American M48 main battle tank imported from West Germany and later from the United States (from 1965), almost certainly in the M48A2C version. Tanks of this type, in comparison with the previous versions of the M48 machine, had a modernized power plant, their thermal signature was also reduced, the gun stabilization system was improved, the SKO (fire control system) was significantly modernized, which made it - by the standards of the 1960s - very modern . Machines of this type were used during the Six-Day War (1967) and together with the Centurions were the main armored vehicles of the Israeli army. It should be added that after 1967 the Magach 2 machines were modernized and improved.
