Assembled model 1/35 tank Sherman III DV Early Production Dragon D6573 US industrial might ensured the mass production of thousands of M4 Sherman tanks, many of which were transferred to the Allies under the Lend-Lease Act. Great Britain was one of the main recipients of Shermans (17,184 vehicles in total) and the latest issue of Dragon features one such vehicle. Kit #6573 is an early production Sherman III, the British nomenclature "III" refers to the M4A2. During World War II, the British used more than 5,000 of these Sherman III diesel tanks with 75 mm guns, making it the second most common Sherman variant in British service. Many fought, for example, in North Africa and Italy. This kit has Direct Vision (DV) slots for the driver and navigator on the glacis plate, this feature being a precursor to vehicles equipped with periscopic viewing devices. Building on the success of the previous Dragon Sherman IIIs, this latest kit received new parts where necessary for an early production DV vehicle. For easy assembly, the upper and lower housings are created as one-piece components thanks to complex sliding forms. The plastic turret received a finely textured surface that perfectly conveys the original cast pattern. Two types of transmission cover are provided, which will allow modelers to reproduce a specific tank. The high-fidelity kit also benefits from multimedia materials to update individual details, such as photo-etched parts and DS tracks. Of course, the high quality Cartograf decals provide the markings for a number of British tanks. This tank is a very useful addition to the Sherman kit family and is sure to appeal to Shermanaholics...as well as everyone else!
