Vickers Medium is a British medium tank of the interwar period. The first prototypes of the car were created in the early 1920s. The Vickers Medium tank was equipped with one powerful Siddley engine with a capacity of 90 hp. It was armed with one 47mm 3-pounder QFSA gun and three machine guns. Vickers cal. 7.7 mm. The Vickers Medium tank was originally created as a private initiative of the Vickers arms concern, but the British Army quickly became interested in the matter as they were looking for a successor to the failed Medium Mark D. The Vickers Medium was based on the Vickers Medium tank. experience of the First World War. First of all, it had very thin armor, only 6-7 mm thick, and was intended primarily for infantry work. At the same time, it had its main armament mounted in a rotating turret and was more advanced than the British Mark I, Mark IV or Mark V heavy or medium tanks of the Great War. During serial production, two main versions of the Vickers Medium development were produced. The first, called Vickers Medium Mk. In addition, this was the first production series. The second version is the Vickers Medium Mk. II, which had slightly reinforced armor and in some cases had Hotchkiss rifles instead of Vickers machine guns. The Vickers Medium was the main and most numerous tank of the British Army in the period 1923-1938. During the Second World War, they completely fell out of use and were used mainly for training. They were used to a small extent during the battles for Tobruk and Marsa-Matruh in 1940-1942.
