Turán III (full name: 43.M Turán III) is a Hungarian prototype medium tank (sometimes classified as heavy) of World War II. The cart was 6.6 meters long and 2.6 meters wide. The combat weight was 21 tons. Propulsion was provided by a single Manfred Weiss-Z V8 engine with a capacity of 260 hp. Armament consisted of a 75 mm KwK 40 L/43 gun and two 8 mm 34/40 machine guns. Turán III was created as a result of the appearance of new Soviet combat vehicles on the Eastern Front, which posed a very serious threat to the Hungarian army and were superior to Turán II vehicles. In order to shorten the research and development period, it was decided to modify the latter by adding a new gun, i.e. the German 75 mm KwK 40 gun, which in turn led to a modification of the turret and a change in its design and shape. The first Turán III prototypes appeared in 1943, but never went into mass production.
