Studebaker US6 three-axle truck began to be produced by the Studebaker Corporation in 1941, and from 1943 REO Motor Car also joined its production. In total, about 200,000 cars of thirteen modifications were produced. The car had a strong construction and a large load capacity. Its 6-cylinder Hercules JXD engine with a capacity of 94 hp. Studebaker US6 provided high off-road performance. Most of these trucks were used by the allies of the United States, but a certain number of them were used by the American armed forces. So, Studebaker US6 was used in the US Army Corps of Engineers, in particular, during the construction of the highway in Alaska. A small number of these trucks were used by the US Army in Europe, they were vehicles of the so-called reverse lend-lease, when a certain amount of equipment transferred to the Allies was returned to US use for various reasons. There are also known cases of Studebaker US6 use by the American armed forces in the Far East.
