HMS Calcutta (D82) was a British light cruiser laid down in October 1917 and launched in July 1918. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 137.6 meters, and the width was 13.26 meters. The full displacement was about 5,300 tons, and the maximum speed was up to 29 knots. Armament of the unit, immediately after acceptance into service, consisted of: 5 guns of caliber 152 mm, 2 guns of caliber 76.2 mm and 8 torpedo tubes of caliber 533 mm.
