HMS Roberts (F40) is a British monitor of the Second World War. The keel for this installation was laid in 1940, and it was launched in February 1941. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 113.8 meters, and the width was 27.4 meters. Full displacement reached approx. 8000 tons, and the maximum speed was approx. 13 knots. Armament at the time of launch consisted of two 381 mm guns, 8 100 mm guns and 20 20 mm guns. HMS Roberts was one of the monitors of the class of the same name - that is, Roberts. Type O. Ships of this type were designed primarily to support amphibious operations and to a much lesser extent for naval operations. The main armament of these monitors comes from the "Marshall" type units of the First World War. The Roberts-type ships also had a relatively wide hull to ensure good stability of the ship when firing. HMS Roberts was active in Operation Torch in late 1942, during which she was severely damaged. After reconstruction, it supported the Allied landings in Sicily in 1943 and in the Salerno area of the same year. After crossing to the British Isles, he took part in the Normandy landings in June 1944. The unit was in service - intermittently - until 1965. Paints and glue are not included.
