Wuhan is the NATO term for two types of Chinese submarines: Type 033G and Type 033G1. It can be assumed that the length of both types of aggregates is approx. 76-77 m, with a width of approx. 6.7 meters. The power plant is diesel-electric, which allows you to develop an underwater speed of 13-14 knots. The Type 033G and Type 033G1 units are actually a far-reaching upgrade of the Chinese-made ships, which are a license version of the Soviet Romeo-class units known as the Type 033. The Type 033 received an upgraded fire control system, more modern electronic equipment and is capable of firing much more modern torpedoes. On the other hand, the second type (Type 033G1, Wuhan A class) is a single unit, most likely experimental, which has been adapted to carry six YJ-1 water-to-water missiles. Thus, the unit became a carrier of cruise missiles. It should be added that Wuhan A has a low noise level. Currently, the Type 033G and 033G1 units remain in the line, but are increasingly used for educational purposes.
