A-26B Pacific theater of operations The Douglas A-26 Invader was the best American twin-engine bomber of World War II. It was produced in 1942-1945. 1,355 A-26B aircraft with a solid nose and 1,091 A-26C aircraft with a glazed nose were produced. A-26 Invader bombers were used in the Pacific Theater in 1945.
