From the beginning of 1940, a small number of Do 215 aircraft were produced, which were distinguished by the installation of liquid-cooled DB 601A engines. In 1941, the production of a modification of the night fighter - Do 215B-5 - began. FuG 202 Lichtenstein radars were installed on these heavily armed aircraft. They served in the night fighter unit II/NJG 1 until early 1944.
