Ju 88C-6b
In the early 1930s, the idea of a high-speed bomber that could outrun modern fighters appeared in the world. One of the objectives of this concept was the Ju 88 twin-engine bomber, developed by the German company Junkers Flugzeug – und Motorenwerke AG. From the spring of 1941, Ju 88A-4 aircraft were produced with Jumo 211J liquid-cooled engines of increased power and more powerful weapons. The Ju 88C-6b was a 1943 version of the A-4 night fighter and featured a single MG FF gun with three MG 17 machine guns in the opaque nose and two MG FF in the under-fuselage nacelle. Some aircraft had 2 more MG FF guns mounted in the fuselage stationary at a forward-upward angle. FuG 202 or FuG 220 radars were also installed. These aircraft were used as night fighters on the Western and Eastern fronts in 1943-1945.
