USS Bonhomme Richard (original name: Duc de Duras) is an American sailing frigate introduced in the second half of the 18th century. The device was launched in 1766 and entered service shortly thereafter. The length of the vessel was 46 meters, and the width was 12 meters. The total displacement did not exceed 1,000 tons, and the crew numbered about 380 people. USS Bonhomme Richard was armed with: 6 18-pounder guns, 28 12-pounder guns, and 8 9-pounder guns. USS Bonhomme Richard originally entered service as the Duc de Duras as a merchant ship of the French East India Company and was intended to navigate between Europe and the Middle and Far East. However, in 1769 she was commissioned into the French Navy and modernized, mainly by adding artillery armament, but in 1771 she was sold into private hands. However, in 1779, Louis XVI bought it from them and put it under the command of the American commander John Paul Jones. Then the unit changed its name. The ship, which was already under the American flag, was sunk in September 1779 in a skirmish with the British fleet. Paints and glue are not included.
