Type 071 is the class designation of China's modern amphibious assault ships (LPDs). Units of this type have been adopted by the Navy of the People's Republic of China since 2007. Currently (2018), 4 units of this type remain in service, two more are planned to be built. Class 071 ships are 210 meters long and 28 meters wide. The full displacement is about 28,000 tons, and the maximum speed is about 25 knots. The armament of a single unit of this type includes, among other things, one 76 mm cannon or four licensed 30 mm AK-630 kits. The unit can operate four Z-8 Super Frelon (Aerospatiale SA 321 licensed version) helicopters. Type 071 ships are de facto a new quality in the PRC Navy, as they significantly expand its ability to conduct amphibious operations from the sea (using landing barges or amphibious ships) and from the air (using helicopters). Units of this type are also highly seaworthy and can take approx. 500 to approx. 800 paratroopers. These units are comparable, although they are inferior in terms of electronic equipment to American LPDs of the San Antonio class.
Paints and glue are not included in the set.
