Type 072A (according to NATO nomenclature: Yuting II class) is a class of large amphibious ships (tanks) manufactured by the PRC. The first unit of this class entered service, probably in 2003. A single ship of this type has a length of 120 m, a width of 16.4 m and a full displacement of about 4,800 tons. The maximum speed is no more than 17 knots. This unit type is armed with either a 37mm twin gun or a 30mm H/PJ-17 kit. The Type 072A also has two helipads. The Type 072A landing craft were originally designed to complement and then replace the Type 072II units in the line. Compared to their predecessors, they are slightly longer, slightly larger overall, but have a higher top speed and a better array of sensors and familiar electronics. They also received another set of defensive weapons. It is assumed that one Type 072A is capable of landing a landing force of 10 armored vehicles and about 250 soldiers. The entire class of Type 072A landing craft consists of 15 units, all of which are in service.
