The Kawanishi H8K is a Japanese four-engine, long-range, all-metal high-altitude aircraft of World War II. The flight of the prototype took place in January 1941, serial production started in the same year and continued until the end of the war, ending with the release of 162 copies. The first production series was called H8K1 Model 11, and the next H8K2 Model 12 had more powerful engines. A transport version (H8K2-L) capable of carrying 62 fighters was also created. 36 copies of this version were produced. Starting in 1943, the Model 1 radar was installed on some H8Ks. The aircraft was baptized on March 4, 1942 at the Second Pearl Harbor Rally.
