57-mm US M-1 anti-tank gun on an M-2 carriage. The idea of producing a British 6-pounder anti-tank gun in the United States was expressed by the US Army Directorate in February 1941. The American version was adopted as the 57mm M1 gun and was based on the 6-pounder Mark II. Production began in early 1942 and lasted until 1945. The M1A1 variant received American military tires and rims. About 10,000 guns were given to the US Army, 4,200 were delivered to Great Britain, and another 400 guns were sent to the USSR.
