The T31 destroyer was the prototype of the American heavy tank of the Second World War. The only prototype of the machine passed field tests in 1945. But the T31 tank never went into serial production. The car was powered by one Ford GAA engine with a capacity of 500 hp. The tank was armed with two 182-mm T94 rocket launchers and three 12.7-mm and 7.62-mm Browning machine guns. At the end of 1944, design work began on a completely new tank for the US Army, the sole purpose of which was to destroy enemy fortifications and pillboxes. To accelerate the pace of work, it was decided to use the chassis and body of the M4A3 Sherman tank from the HVSS chassis. The main armament of the machine was T94 rockets installed on a completely new tower on the sides. It was also planned to install a flamethrower on the vehicle. However, during the tests, there were significant problems with the reloading system of the launcher, which ultimately led to the fact that the machine was not put into mass production.
