Eurocopter Tiger is a twin-engine attack helicopter of German, Spanish and Italian production, with a metal structure of a classic layout with propellers on the beam, carrying and tail. In the basic version, the drive is provided by two Rolls-Royce/MTU 390 engines with a capacity of 1183 hp each. each one The flight of the first prototype took place in 1991, and serial production, which began only in 2002, is still ongoing. Currently (2017), according to estimates, about 100 examples of this helicopter have been made. The Eurocopter Tiger was created in response to a competition announced in 1984 by the Ministry of Defense of France and Germany for a new attack helicopter for the armies of both countries. A consortium of Aerospatiale and MBB was created to reduce costs. In the course of serial production, four specialized development options were created, which were produced in relatively small batches so far. One of them is the UHT version, which is used by the German army as an anti-tank helicopter. Interestingly, there is no plot in this version. Another version of the HAP is used by the French and Spanish armies as a direct support and escort helicopter. In general, all versions of the Eurocopter Tiger are very similar to each other and differ mainly in weapons and avionics. The Eurocopter Tiger has been used in combat operations in Afghanistan by France, Germany and Spain since 2009.
