The Boeing 737 is a twin-engine, low-wing, short-range jet airliner manufactured in the United States. Drive is provided by two Pratt and Whitney JT8D or CFM International CFM56 engines. The flight of the prototype took place in 1967, and serial production began in 1968 and continues to this day. The Boeing 737 is the most ordered passenger aircraft in history, and by mid-2017, as many as 9,486 copies of this aircraft had been produced! This type of aircraft was created as a response of the Boeing concern to the demand of American airlines for a new passenger car characterized by low operating costs. In addition, the "2x3" seating system is used here, that is, there are two rows of 3 seats in the cabin, which made it possible to transport a larger number of passengers. Several major research versions of this highly successful aircraft were produced during serial production. The first series production was the Boeing 737-100, but the Boeing 737-200 model was quickly introduced with improved performance and aerodynamic properties. Boeing's 737-600, 737-700, and 737-800 models, which appeared in the late 1990s, used state-of-the-art avionics with a glass cockpit layout and liquid crystal displays instead of analog clocks. One of the newest versions is the Boeing 737-900, which flew in 2000. It has improved aerodynamics and changed the shape of the wings, thanks to which the range has increased. Depending on the version, the Boeing 737 can accommodate from 104 to 215 passengers.
