The Stryker is a modern American wheeled armored vehicle. The first prototypes of the car were built around 2000, and series production, which began in 2002, continues to this day. According to estimates, by the beginning of 2018, about 4,900 cars of this type had been produced. The Stryker is equipped with a Catterpillar C7 engine with a capacity of 350 hp. Armament varies by machine version, but the base version (M1126) includes two 7.62mm machine guns or one Mk.19 grenade launcher and one 7.62mm machine gun. The concept of a car - or, in fact, a series of cars - Stryker was born at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, when the command of the US Army came to the conclusion that in future armed conflicts the key elements will be speed of action, mobility and speed. the ability to quickly shift forces on a strategic scale. The US Army was supposed to be able to deploy a light infantry brigade (later known as the Stryker Brigade Combat Team) in 96 hours anywhere on the planet. In accordance with these requirements, a completely new Stryker armored vehicle was developed, which is characterized by very high mobility, high maximum speed, can be upgraded, but has relatively thin armor, not exceeding 15 mm. During serial production, many experimental versions of this car were created. The basic wheeled armored personnel carrier received the designation M1126. A reconnaissance version called the M1127 was also created. A tank destroyer armed with a 105 mm M68A2 gun, designated M1128, was also built. A self-propelled mortar of caliber 81 or 120 mm, designated M1129, was also produced. In addition, a command vehicle (M1130), a fire support vehicle (M1131), an engineering vehicle (M1132), a medical evacuation vehicle (M1133), and a self-propelled anti-tank missile launcher (M1134) were created on the basis of the basic chassis. ), and finally a vehicle for recognizing soil contamination (M1135). Currently, Stryker machines are used only by the US Army. They took part in the 2003 Iraq war and the intervention in Afghanistan.
