During the Second World War, HMS Belfast took part in the Battle of the North Cape in 1943 and played an important role in the D-Day landings in 1944. After a well-deserved renovation, Belfast also played an active role in the Korean War from 1950-1952.

HMS Belfast, one of only three surviving D-Day bombers, is now preserved by the IWM and moored in the River Thames near Tower Bridge in London.
