1/35 British Lloyd Carrier with Bronco 6-pounder Anti-Tank Gun CB35189

Lloyd Carrier is a British light tracked transport of the Second World War. The first prototypes were created in 1939, and serial production lasted from 1940 to 1945. In total, about 26,500 copies of this car were produced. The Loyd Carrier was equipped with a Ford UK-79E-6004 or Ford EGAE engine with a capacity of 65 or 85 horsepower, respectively. The machine did not have permanent armament. The Loyd Carrier was created as a private initiative by Vivian Loyd, an engineer at the Vickers arms company, who left it in the 1930s. Vivian Lloyd developed a low-cost, light and multi-purpose tracked tractor (Loyd Carrier), which managed to interest the highest officers of the British army. When designing the new tractor, the main emphasis was placed on reducing the cost of serial production and simplifying it as much as possible. This resulted in the use of a 2-ton Ford truck frame and many components from Universal Carrier. During mass production, four main varieties of Loyd Carrier were created. The first was intended for the transportation of people and light equipment - it had the marking Tracked Personnel Carrier (TPC). The second, designated Carrier Tracked Towing (CTT), was a classic artillery tractor designed for 40 and 57 mm guns. It was also the version produced in the largest number. The third version - Carrier Tracked Cable Layer Mechanical (CTCLM) - was intended for laying telephone cables. Finally, the last - Carrier Tracked Starting and Charging (CTSC) - was a version of technical assistance for mechanized and armored units. The Armed Forces of Poland in the West (PSZ) were also equipped with vehicles of this type. After the end of the Second World War, they were used by many countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.
