The M36 Jackson or Slugger is an American tank destroyer of World War II. M36 entered combat in the second half of 1944. Despite such a late date, he managed to become famous for destroying a large amount of enemy equipment, especially during the German offensive in the Ardennes. Much of the design was based on the proven M10, but a typical turret was introduced to work alongside the best 90mm M3 anti-tank gun in the US arsenal at the time. Together with the recently introduced new HVAP missiles, it was able to penetrate all German armor without exception. In fact, the M36 Jackson was the only American armored vehicle capable of handling the German Tigers and Panthers on its own. The efficiency resulted in strong demand and production, which reached 1,400 units in less than a year. After World War II, the M36 continued to be used in battles in Korea, India's war with Pakistan, and even in conflicts in the Balkans. In addition to the basic version, two more were produced: M36B1 (turret mounted on the Sherman M4A3 body) and M36B2 (M10 with an M36 turret and a diesel engine). Technical data: length (with barrel): 7.46 m, width: 3.05 m, height: 3.28 m, weight 29 t, engine power: 450 km, speed: 42 km / h, armament: 1 90- mm gun M3, 1 12.7-mm Browning HB M2 machine gun. Paint and glue are not included in the set.
