RMS Olympic was a British passenger ship (so-called transatlantic liner) of the First World War and the interwar period. The keel for this vessel was laid in 1908, launched in October 1910, and commissioned in 1911. The overall length of the ship was 269 meters and the width was 28.3 meters. The full displacement reached about 45,000 tons, and the maximum speed was up to 24 knots. RMS Olympic was an analogue of the Titanic, but unlike it had a long and very fruitful service. It was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the White Star Line shipping lines. In 1913, the vessel was rebuilt taking into account the lessons learned from the Titanic disaster. First of all, more lifeboats were added and the bottom of the hull was strengthened. The unit served as an army transport between 1915 and 1918, and in May 1918 sank the German submarine U-103 by ramming it. In 1920, RMS Olympic returned to passenger service in the Atlantic. It was not until 1935 that it was decommissioned.
