The FV103 CVR(T) Spartan with additional armor and the HB (Heavy Barrel) turret is a modernized configuration of the British light high-speed tracked armored personnel carrier, originally designed to transport specialized infantry and reconnaissance units. The main feature of this version is the installation of reinforced mounted hull protection and a special closed machine gun turret (HB Gun Turret), which significantly increases the crew's survivability and firepower of the vehicle in conditions of intense clashes. Despite the integration of heavy armor elements, the vehicle retains the trademark high mobility and maneuverability of the CVR(T) platform, due to which this variant is actively used in modern armed conflicts, in particular by the Ukrainian Defense Forces to perform combat missions on the front line.
