The Cadillac Gage V100 is an American wheeled armored vehicle belonging to the Cadillac Cage Commnado series of vehicles, currently manufactured by Textron Marine and Land System. The first prototypes of this series were manufactured in 1963, and a year later mass production began, which lasted until approximately 2000. The drive in the V100 version was provided by a single Chrysler V8 gasoline engine with a capacity of 191 horsepower.
The Cadillac Gage V100 was originally designed as a light all-wheel drive armored car, as simple and cheap as possible to operate. The V100 had good characteristics, especially the maximum speed, which reached 100 km/h. The armor provided the crew with protection only from small-caliber shells of up to 7.62 mm caliber and smaller artillery fragments. Armament was concentrated in a rotating turret and most often consisted of a machine gun of up to 12.7 mm caliber. The car could accommodate up to 12 soldiers – including the crew. The Cadillac Gage V100 was used during the Vietnam War (1964/1965-1975). It was also exported to many countries around the world, including Bolivia, Guatemala and Singapore.
